This cruise with less than 700 guests onboard the outstanding Azamara Quest, visits Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil. We begin in mesmerizing Buenos Aires and sail north, visiting beautiful Montevideo and Punta del Este, the bustling San Paulo, then the more relaxing Ilhabela and Paraty all before finally reaching iconic Rio de Janeiro. The golf is delightful, including Montevideo’s Alister MacKenzie designed Club de Golf del Uruguay, and the Olympic Golf Course in Rio, site of golf’s 2016 return to the Olympic Games.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

Golf Handicap Limit: The golf courses we play around the world offer varying challenges. Players often require to be of a certain standard to properly and fully experience them in the company of likeminded fellow golfers. We therefore set a maximum permitted golf handicap to participate on our tours and cruises; The maximums are 28 for men and 36 for ladies.

Golf Courses: The included list may be subject to change in the event of any club accepting any conflicting national or international event, or for any other reason. Should such a situation occur, PerryGolf will endeavour to book a course of comparable standard, and all booked guests would be notified of the change and replacement venue at the earliest opportunity.

MARCH 7, THURSDAY: MONTEVIDEO, URUGUAY (7:30AM / 10:00PM)
Today play Club de Golf del Uruguay. Set in Montevideo’s residential suburb of Punta Carretas, and with beautiful views overlooking the Rio de la Plata River. The course began as a modest 9 hole venue before being re-created in 1930 as an outstanding 18 hole layout by legendary designer Alister MacKenzie, taking its place alongside his other illustrious creations around the world, including Royal Melbourne and Cypress Point. It is now a thriving club, and a joy to play.

MARCH 8, FRIDAY: PUNTA DEL ESTE, URUGUAY (7:30AM/ 6:00PM)
Cantegril Country Club is competitive for the accomplished golfer and playable for the recreational player. It has undergone several renovations through the decades, most recently in 2000 by Emilio Serra, an Argentine, who was the son of a noted professional. Recent improvements include drainage upgrades which enable the course to be maintained in excellent condition during the golf season.

MARCH 11, MONDAY: SAO PAULO (SANTOS), BRAZIL (7:30AM / 8:00PM)
Sao Paulo Golf Club, rated #4 in Brazil, enjoys a rich history, its classic tree lined layout having been designed in the 1930’s by the legendary Canadian architect Stanley Thomson, assisted by a very young Robert Trent Jones. The Club’s earliest members were British Railway engineers. In 2000 it hosted the Brazil 500 Years Open to celebrate the discovery of Brazil by Pedro Alvares in 1500.

MARCH 14, THURSDAY: RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL (8:00AM / IN PORT)
The Olympic Golf Course is located in Barra da Tijuca slightly less than an hour from Rio. It was designed by the esteemed American architect Gil Hanse for golf’s return to the 2016 Olympic Games following a 112-year hiatus. The 7,160-yard par 71 layout served as the ideal venue for an epic battle between Englishman Justin Rose and the Swedish star Henrik Stenson, which Rose won with a brilliant 72-hole total of 16-under par. Inbee Park closed with a 66 to clear Silver Medalist Lydia Ko by five shots.
