Your journey begins in one of the world’s oldest cities, Athens, where endless ancient wonders await. Next up is a late night in Mykonos, an island that charms with shops, bars, and restaurants nestled next to traditional whitewashed churches and homes. Be sure to visit the Ano Mera Monastery and explore hidden corners of the island by 4×4.

Awake the next morning in Kuşadası, Turkey, where you can visit Ephesus and the Library of Celsus, still magnificent almost 2,000 years later; the Odeon, home of our “Ephesus: Back to Ancient Times” AzAmazing Evenings eventSM; and the 24,000-capacity Great Theatre, where St. Paul used to preach.

Continue your immersion with a late stayin the Greek Isles on historic Rhodes. You’ll feel transported back in time visiting the Acropolis of Lindos, wandering through ruins that date back centuries.

Journey on to the tiny island of Patmos—a place of deep importance for Christianity. It’s where the last book of the New Testament was allegedly written, and where an air of mystery still hangs over the island—not unlike the misty fog that seems to be ever-present just off the shore.

Next is a late stay in Santorini, which means plenty of time to head south to the 3,500-year-old Minoan town Akrotiri. The well-preserved ruins provide a glimpse into Santorini’s storied (and explosive) past.

In Heraklion you’ll discover the many treasures at the Archaeological Museum, regarded as one of the most important museums in Greece. With a history that dates back to the 9th century, Heraklion has seen its share of travelers over the millennia, so you’ll fit right in.

Your Grecian adventure comes full circle with a debarkation in Athens. If you need a little extra pick-me-up upon arrival, have a frappé—a Greek creation of strong iced coffee with milk and sugar. Opa!
