Airport transfers: exit the airport, do not stop and chat inside with anyone saying they are supposed to pick you up and take you to your resort inside the airport. These people are trying to sell you time shares. Head straight out of the airport to find someone holding a sign with your tour operators name on it. They will have your name on their list and direct you to the correct transfer to your hotel.
Using taxi’s in Mexico: if you will be taking a taxi to get around, negotiate the flat rate before getting in or you may get a surprise when you arrive at your destination.
Climate: Dry year-round, with an average temperature of 24 C. Los Cabos claims to have about 300 days of sunshine annually. The climate is much cooler from December through March. Average annual rainfall is 25.4cm, most with occurring during the months of September and October.
National language: Spanish is the official language, but you’ll also hear locals speaking English.
Currency: MXN (Mexican Peso). We recommend bringing USD and/or MXN pesos as vendors outside the resorts charge in pesos, but will take either. Automated banking machine services are available throughout the country. Canadian debit and credit cards are widely accepted; however, Canadian currency and traveller’s cheques are not.
Voltage: 120V; Canadian devices use 120 V, and will work with most outlets in Los Cabos as many resorts have 120 V plugs.
