Day 1: Start your journey to Peru
Start your journey to Peru. As there is a time difference you may lose a day during the outward journey, but this will be recouped on your return trip back home. Don’t worry, you are not in-flight for two days.
Day 2: Canada – Lima
Arrive at your Canadian departure airport, ready for a flight to Lima.* Arrive in Lima, the capital of Peru, situated on the Pacific Coast. Transfer to the hotel, and spend the rest of the day exploring the city’s colonial streets and magical plazas at your leisure. Overnight stay in Lima.
* If either your outbound or inbound flights depart in the early hours (before 4:00 a.m.) you must arrive at the airport the night before the indicated departure day.
Day 3: Lima – Arequipa (B)
Breakfast at the hotel. Today, transfer to the airport in Lima to board a flight to Arequipa. Arequipa’s city centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is home to various religious monuments and historic buildings such as the Basilica Cathedral of Arequipa. The city sits at the foot of the Misti volcano which provides a beautiful skyline backdrop Once arrived at your destination, you will be assisted at the airport and transferred to your hotel.
In the afternoon, take part in a half-day tour of Arequipa where you will discover this breathtaking colonial-era city’s Santa Catalina Convent. Begin your journey visiting the districts of Carmen Alto and Yanahuara to visit the viewpoint look out into the Misti, Chachani and Pichu Pichu volcanoes as well as a panoramic view of Arequipa.
Continue your tour heading towards the Santa Catalina Monastery to marvel at its picturesque cloisters, streets and squares before stopping at the historical center’s main plaza. Overnight stay in Arequipa
Day 4: Arequipa (B)
Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy the entire day at your leisure for you to discover the city of Arequipa at your own pace. Alternatively, we recommend you take part in our optional private excursion to Sillar Route*. Overnight stay in Arequipa.
*Optional Private Excursion to Sillar Route: Discover how the historic center of the city of Arequipa was built as you acquaint yourself with the materials and processes used by stonemasons. You will participate in the ashlar block-making process using hammers, chisels and volcanic tuff before getting to appreciate the beauty of the church within the walls of Sillar Route
Day 5: Arequipa – Colca (B)
Breakfast at the hotel. Today, transfer to Pampa Cañahuas, a magnificent location with an impressively diverse local fauna, including vicuñas. From here, you will stop in Patahuasi and Tocrapampa to contemplate their natural beauty and array of bird species.
Next, you will make your way to Chivay to enjoy a buffet lunch (at your expense) before transferring to your hotel in Colca to enjoy the rest of the afternoon at your leisure. Alternatively, you can take part in an optional tour to La Calera Hot Springs*. Overnight stay in Colca.
*Optional Tour of La Calera Hot Springs: Tucked in the Colca Valley, enjoy the natural hot springs of La Calera that are said to have medical and healing properties thanks to their high temperature waters rich in sulfur, lithium and iron.
Day 6: Colca – Puno (B)
Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a day of adventure as you make your way to Puno from Colca where you will get to visit the Cruz del Condor, a prime spot to gaze at the beautiful Colca Canyon, the second deepest canyon in the world. If the weather permits, try spotting the majestic Andean Condor, the largest flying bird in the world.
From here, head to the town of Maca to visit the church and local market before continuing on to the town of Chivay for a delicious buffet lunch (at your expense). Your next stop will be to Patapampa to admire the impressive volcanic landscapes.
Finally, you will make a stop in Patahuasi and in Lagunillas to marvel at the beauty of the local fauna. Return to your hotel and overnight stay in Puno.
Day 7: Puno (B/L)
Breakfast at the hotel. Today, take part in a mesmerizing visit to Lake Titicaca, Uros and Taquile Islands where you will delve into the magic of Peru’s natural beauty and some of the country’s most sought after tourist attractions.
Start this exciting journey by visiting the floating islands of the Uros where you will get to interact with the first ethnic group that arrived in Puno 3700 years ago. You will become acquainted with their daily lives and even visit their houses.
You will then make your way to Taquile, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its stunning landscapes including an immense lake and snow-capped mountains of the Illimani. Enjoy lunch with locals as they sing and dance to traditional music. Overnight stay in Puno.
Day 8: Puno – Cuzco (B/L)
Breakfast at the hotel. Early morning departure towards Cuzco, located in the middle of the Peruvian Andes and ancient home of the Inca Civilization. The city is also famous for its spectacular main square, cobbled streets, and houses with terracotta tile roofs that will remind you of some ancient European villages. You will navigate the route from Puno to Cuzco by bus where you will be making stops along the way to acquaint yourself with some top attractions.
You will first be visiting the Lithic Museum and archaeological complex of Pucara before heading over to La Raya, where you will stop at the highest point to take in the view of the beautiful landscape. Next, you will enjoy a delicious buffet lunch.
From here, you will visit the archaeological complex of Raqch’i, also known as the Wiracocha Temple, the tallest Inca structure discovered to date before ending your adventure at the Church of San Pedro Apostol in Andahuaylillas. Board your bus once more for a transfer to your hotel for check-in. Overnight stay in Cusco.
Day 9: Cuzco – Machu Picchu – Cuzco (B)
Breakfast at the hotel. Today, an exciting day awaits you in Machu Picchu, one of the 7 wonders of the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Transfer to the village of Ollantaytambo to travel by train to Aguas Calientes* (Machu Picchu village) and enjoy the beautiful green mountain scenery along the way.
Once there, transfer by bus to the ancient Inca city of the Citadel for approximately a 2:30h visit which may take place in the morning or afternoon depending on availability. Enjoy the spectacular views of this Peruvian treasure built in the 15th century at an altitude of more than 2000 meters.
Return by bus to Aguas Calientes and, depending on the return train schedule, you will have free time to explore the town at your own pace. Travel by train back to Ollantaytambo, transfer to the hotel and overnight stay in Cuzco.
*The reservation includes a standard category train (Expedition train or Voyager train). You have the option to upgrade to travel on a higher category train (360º train or Vistadome train). Please contact us for more details.

Day 10: Cuzco (B)
Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy the day at your own leisure. Alternatively, you can take part in one or both of our offered optional activities; the full day excursion to Rainbow Mountain* and/or a Panoramic night tour of Cusco with a Pisco Sour workshop**. Overnight stay in Cusco.
*Optional Excursion to Rainbow Mountain: Trek along beautiful landscapes to reach the highest Mountain of this region known as the Apu Ausangate where you will be able to interact with the local fauna (llamas and alpacas) as well as native residents and get to know more about their daily lives and routines. The highlight of this excursion is visiting Vinicunca, or Rainbow Mountain, where you will be given time to discover it at your own pace before making your way to Cusipata for lunch at a local restaurant.
**Optional Panoramic Night Tour of Cusco with Pisco Sour Workshop: Get to know Cusco by night in this panoramic tour where you will familiarise with the city’s top attractions, including Koricancha Temple, an ancient Inca palace and cult center of the Sun god. You will then head towards the Main Plaza to take part in a Pisco Sour workshop in a renowned bar in the city.
Day 11: Cuzco – Lima (B)
Breakfast at the hotel. At the scheduled time, you will transfer from the hotel to the airport to board a flight to Lima. As the capital of the country, Lima offers for its award-winning Peruvian gastronomy, two miles of parks along the Pacific coast, museums and gorgeous colonial Plaza de Armas.
Upon arrival, you will be assisted and transferred to your hotel for check-in. Enjoy the rest of the day at your own leisure. Take this time to explore the capital of Peru at your own pace. Overnight stay in Lima.
Day 12: Lima (B)
Breakfast at the hotel. Embark on a half-day city tour of Lima where you will acquaint yourself with the colonial part of the city.Start by exploring the districts of Miraflores and San Isidro before heading to the Historic Center, where you will find the impressive Santo Domingo Convent to the Casa de Aliaga, home to the famous conquistador Jerónimo de Aliaga.
Visit the impressive Santo Domingo Convent and walk to the Plaza de Armas to admire the exquisite colonial architecture that surrounds it.From here, make your way to the Plaza de Armas and gaze at the beauty of the colonial architecture before making a stop to the Larco Museum which houses more than 45,000 pieces depicting five thousand years of ancient Peruvian history. Overnight stay in Lima.
Day 13: Lima – Night on board (B)
Breakfast at the hotel. At the indicated time, transfer to the airport for a flight back to Canada.* Night on board.

- You have to be able to carry 1 piece of luggage per person weighing a maximum of 5kg. on board the train.
- To access the citadel of Machu Picchu, you can bring a personal bag that does not exceed 40x35x20cm. In case it exceeds the indicated measurements, you will be able to keep it during the visit for a price of approx. 2$ per bag. Please note that it is forbidden to enter with plastic bottles or bags.
