*Hike to Machu Picchu could be on Inca Trail or Lares Trail, depending on what permits are available at time of booking. The Inca trails permits have been reduced and the amount of hikers allowed on the trail per day is less. The 2021 permits have not been released yet. When you book or deposit on your tour add your passport information right away, so as soon as the permits are released yours are issued. The Lares trail is an option if hiking and you can not secure a spot on the Inca Trail.

Day 1: Lima

Arrive in Lima and make your way to your hotel. Meet up with your group for a welcome meeting in the evening.

Day 2: Lima – Cusco (B)

Hop on a flight to Cusco. Enjoy a free day of shopping and exploring the city. Choose to pre-book the Cusco Cooking Class. Opt for a city tour.
Hotel: Hotel Prisma (or similar)

Day 3: Cusco/Ollantaytambo (B/L)

Enjoy a full-day guided tour of the Sacred Valley. Stop at the G Adventures-supported women’s weaving co-op before exploring the Pisac ruins. Break for lunch at the G Adventures-supported Parwa community restaurant in Huchuy Qosco. Finish the day exploring the Ollantaytambo ruins with a local guide. Hotel: Inka Paradise (or similar)

Day 4-6: Ollantaytambo – Inca Trail Hike, Lares Trail Hike, Cusco Stay & Train (HIKE B/L/D, TRAIN B)

Choose to hike the Inca Trail (permit pending) or Hike the Lares Trail and train the final distance from Aguas Calientes into Machu Picchu or stay 2 additional nights in Cusco and train to Machu Picchu which includes 2 tours: Maras Salt Mines and Moray visit & Scenic Andean Drive and Piuray Lagoon Visit

Day 7: Wiñaywayna or Aguas Calientes to Cusco (B)

The final day of the Inca Trail hike starts pre-dawn to reach the Sun Gate before sunrise. Wake up around 03:30 and walk to the checkpoint. Catch the first views of the breathtaking ruins of Machu Picchu on a clear day. Hike down to Machu Picchu for a guided tour of the site and free time to explore. Opt to visit the Inca Bridge, if time allows. Catch the bus to Aguas Calientes to meet the CEO and any non-hiking members of your group. Eat and relax before your train back to Cusco in the afternoon.

Day 8: Cusco – Lima (B)

Fly back to Lima and enjoy the last night in the city.
Hotel: Ibis Budget Miraflores (or similar)

Day 9: Lima (B)

Depart at any time.

Entry Requirements

  • Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the date you expect to leave Peru.

Altitude

  • We strongly recommend you consult your healthcare provider regarding the possible effects of altitude sickness.

Baggage Requirements

  • You will be able to carry 1 piece of luggage per person weighing a maximum of 5kg. on board the train.
  • To access the citadel of Machu Picchu, you can bring a personal bag that does not exceed 40x35x20cm. In case it exceeds the indicated measurements, you will be able to keep it during the visit for a price of approx. 2$ per bag. Please note that it is forbidden to enter with plastic bottles or bags.
