Day 1 – Hometown / Tokyo Narita (via Shanghai)
Depart Canada and fly to Tokyo via Shanghai. Start your worry-free vacation with the guidance of our Canadian Tour Leader. Note: Since the Vancouver to Shanghai flight leaves at 00:30 you will need to arrive at Vancouver International Airport the night before, so you don’t miss your flight!
Day 2 – Arrive Tokyo
Cross the International Date Line and arrive in Tokyo. Tokyo is a city forever reaching into the future. There are excellent museums here, along with everything else you could ask of Japan – grand temples, atmospheric shrines, fascinating contemporary architecture, elegant gardens and hot springs. Upon your arrival at Narita International Airport, you will be greeted by your local guide who will then transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free at your leisure.

Day 3 – Tokyo (B/L/D)
We will start the tour with a visit to Meiji Jingu (Meiji Shrine) which is the most important and popular Shinto shrine in Tokyo dedicated to the Emperor Meiji and his wife. Then we will visit Asakusa Kannon Temple (Sensoji Temple) and Ueno Park. Then we will explore the Nakamise Market.
Day 4 – Tokyo (B/L)
After breakfast, you will be treated with the skyline view of Tokyo at Tokyo Skytree Observation Deck. Next, we will drive-by the Imperial Palace, home to the Emperor of Japan (the palace itself is not open to tourists). We will also see Nijubashi Bridge (which means the “Double Bridge”), one of the most well-known bridges in Japan. Lastly, we will visit Ginza Shopping District.
Day 5 – Tokyo ~ Hakone ~ Mt. Fuji ~ ~ Shizuoka (B/L/D)
Today we are leaving Tokyo and moving to Hakone, a 1.5 hour drive. We will take a very calming, 30 minute cruise on Lake Ashi in a pirate boat. If the weather is clear, you might be able to take a glimpse of Mt. Fuji during the cruise. After the cruise, we will visit the most popular outlet mall, Gotemba Premium Outlets. Then you will be taken to your hotel in Mt. Fuji (1.25-hour drive) where you can experience traditional Japanese hot spring (onsen).

Day 6 – Shizuoka ~ Nagoya (B/L/D)
We will start our tour with Nagoya Castle, built in the beginning of the Edo Period. Next, we will visit Atsuta Shrine – it enshrines the Sun Goddess Amaterasu and stores the sacred sword Kusanagi, which is one of the three imperial regalia. Proceed to visit Osu Kannon Temple/ Shopping Arcade, a network of covered shopping streets with over 400 shops and restaurants. Then we will drive for 2 hours to Kyoto

Day 7 – Nagoya ~ Kyoto (B/L/D)
On this day we will drive to Kyoto, Japan’s ancient capital. Our first stop is Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, where paths lined with endless rows of towering bamboo. The experience has been described as other-worldly, serene, and dreamlike. Then we will proceed to Fushimi Inari Shrine – The Shrine of the
Thousand Torii Gates. The Fushimi Inari Shrine is considered one of the top attractions for foreign visitors to Japan.

Day 8 – Kyoto (B/L/D)
Today we will explore Kyoto’s cultural heritage starting with Kiyomizu-dera, a Buddhist temple in eastern Kyoto which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then you will be treated to a Japanese Tea Ceremony. Then we will visit the district of Gion and try to catch a glimpse of geikos (Kyoto dialect for geisha) or maikos (geiko apprentices) at Hanami-koji Street.
Day 9 – Kyoto ~ Nara ~ Osaka (B/L/SD)
Today we will visit Todai-ji Temple, the largest wooden building in Japan. Nearby, explore the surrounding Nara Deer Park, filled with over 1,000 Sika Deer roaming around free. And then visit Nara’s most celebrated shrine – Kasuga Taisha Shrine. All of these are part of the Historic Monuments of Ancient Nara, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our final stop of the day will be in Osaka. We will spend some time in Dotonbori and Shinasaibashi, one of Osaka’s oldest shopping destinations. To mark the end of a wonderful, cultural trip in Japan, we will have a Special Farewell Dinner in Osaka.

Day 10 – Osaka
The whole day is free at your own leisure. You can choose to go on an Optional
Tour to Hiroshima or spend your time shopping around in Osaka. (B)
Day 11 – Osaka / Hometown (via Shanghai) (B)
Morning free at your leisure. Transfer to Osaka Kansai Airport, take a late afternoon flight. You will arrive back in Canada on the same day.

Leaving Osaka to Seoul by flight. Upon arrival in Seoul, meet with a driver only and transfer to Hotel in Seoul. The rest of the day is free for your leisure.

Dec 3: Seoul (Half Day Tour) (B/L)
You will be picked up by a tour guide from your hotel and will join a group tour. We will visit the main palace in Seoul – Gyeongbok Palace and watch the Changing of the Guards Ceremony. Next we will visit National Folk Museum and Jogyesa Temple. After lunch, we will head to Changdeok Palace and walk along Insadong Antique Shop Alley.
Dec 4: Seoul (B)
You will be picked up by a tour guide in your hotel and will join a group tour. In the morning, we will visit a special place in Korea. DMZ Area is the only place that you can see the reality of divided nation in the world. Our itinerary includes the Third Tunnel Experience, Unification Bridge, Dora observatory where you can catch a glimpse of North Korea, the War History Pavilion, and Imjingak Park. Going back to Seoul, you will be dropped off at City Hall or Itaewon.
Dec 5: Seoul – Shanghai – Canada (B)
After breakfast, transfer to the airport to depart for Canada via Shanghai, and arrive home on the same day.
