Itinerary:

Day 1: Koh Samui Arrival

Upon arrival at Samui Airport, meet and greet by our representative. Transfer to your selected hotel for check-in. Rest of the day at leisure.

Day 2: Koh Samui – Half Day Around Koh Samui Tour (B)

The first stop is Big Buddha temple. The Big Buddha Temple sits on a small rocky island off Koh Samui’s northeastern corner. Known locally as Wat Phra Yai, its golden, 12-metre-tall seated Buddha statue is one of the island’s most popular attractions. Set on Koh Faan, the temple is reached by a causeway that connects it to the main island. Hin Ta and Hin Yai are the highlights of some fascinating rock formations at the southern end of Lamai Beach on Koh Samui. They’ve been a source of giggles and wonder on the island since they were discovered by the locals many years ago. Known as Grandpa (Ta) and Grandma (Yai), the rocks look, respectively, like male and female genitalia.

Then visit Guan Yu Koh Samui shrine. The Guan Yu Shrine is the most recent addition to the island’s sightseeing destinations.  The shrine is a celebration of Chinese heritage and is dedicated to Guan Yu, a legendary warrior who died almost 2,000 years ago. The Guan Yu monument is 16m height, the biggest in Thailand.

Visit Wat Kunaram for pay respect to the mummified body of Luang Por Daeng. Wat Khunaram home to Koh Samui’s mummified monk, is an unusual sight yet it offers a unique insight into Buddhist and Thai culture. The monk, Luong Pordaeng, died in 1973 in a seated meditative position, and ever since his body has been on display in an upright glass case at the temple. Remarkably, even after several decades, the monk’s body shows little sign of decay. For some visitors, having a dead man in full view might be a shocking sight. But for Thais, it’s something to reflect upon and revere.

Last stop will be at Na Muang 1 Waterfall which is quite impressive with its wide drop of 18 meters cascade forming to a natural pool below.  You have time for shopping at Nathon town, the ‘capital’ of Koh Samui. Loads of Samui local products can be found there.
