Day 7: VENICE – MURANO & BURANO ISLANDS (B)
After breakfast make your way to the meeting point for your half day excursion to discover the wonders of the islands of Murano and Burano.
Start off in St. Mark’s Square area where you’ll board a panoramic boat and head towards the northern part of the lagoon. Some explanations will be provided in English, Spanish, French, German and Italian along the way. The first stop will be Murano island, famous for its glass production. Here, you will have the chance to visit a glass factory and observe a local artist giving shape to a glass piece of art. Enjoy some free time to either continue visiting the glass factory and shop, or explore the island on foot. Then, cruise along the lagoon’s beauty and proceed towards one of the most beautiful and peaceful islands of the lagoon: Burano. Famous for its colourful houses and, apart from being a paradise for photographers, it is home to a long tradition of lace production. Take advantage of some free time for your own discoveries before heading back to Venice. |
